Electrics Practicum

This course is a practical application of the material studied in a variety of theatre classes, and provides hands on experience with electrics.
This class on electrics in technical theatre focused on learning the mechanics behind lighting, sound, and projection systems. Through hands-on work, I developed practical skills in setup, wiring, operation, and troubleshooting while gaining a strong understanding of safety and technical processes. The course built my confidence in working with equipment and reinforced the importance of precision and reliability in technical theatre.
Wire a Lightbulb Project
This project focused on learning the fundamentals of electrical wiring by safely wiring and powering a lightbulb from start to finish.
The Last of Us - Sound Design in Media Presentation
In this project, I analyzed the sound design of The Last of Us, examining how audio elements like ambience, effects, and music support the narrative and emotional impact of the show. This analysis deepened my understanding of how intentional sound choices enhance storytelling and audience immersion.

Electrics Olympics
This mock Olympics competition tested practical theatre electrics skills such as speed, accuracy, and problem-solving under pressure. I was grateful to have won alongside my teammate, Emma Smith, reflecting the skills and experience we developed throughout the class.
